Building materials for a home in Mexico

Request a review of the materials for your build or remodel before arranging the crossing. List the materials and quantities so the quote can address the shipment you actually plan to move.

Break the shipment into material groups

Separate lumber, tile, windows, plumbing fixtures, steel and prefabricated components. Include material composition, whether items are new or used, quantities and intended use. Keep invoices and specifications ready.

Put product checks into the review

Ask which classification, NOM (Mexican official standards) or RRNA (non-tariff regulations and restrictions) questions need attention for each material group. Secretaría de Economía explains these product-control categories; this page does not approve a specific material.

Describe delivery to the project

Tell us where the materials are now, the destination state and how they will cross. Describe a split delivery or mixed load if planned, along with unloading constraints and the date the project needs the materials.

  • Make weights, dimensions and packaging available for transport planning.
  • Separate customs review from freight and delivery arrangements.
  • Check the personal-allowance page if you are considering carrying items yourself.

Describe the materials for your project.

The form opens as an individual import with building materials selected.
