Household goods when moving to Mexico
Start a menaje de casa (household goods) review before your move is booked. Describe the belongings, your residency situation and the move dates so we can review the appropriate next steps.
Build an inventory for the review
Prepare a room-by-room list, quantities and a clear description of the goods. Separate new purchases, personal equipment and anything outside the usual household inventory so each can be discussed.
Discuss eligibility and the consulate list
Ask whether your circumstances fit a menaje procedure, what list or certification needs consulate review, and how the dates and residency status affect the file. Current foreign trade rules are the reference; no residency category is declared eligible on this page.

Coordinate the move
Have current location, destination state, proposed crossing point and mover details ready. Keep any existing inventory or consulate paperwork available for the specialist’s review; this form accepts no documents or identification numbers.
- Mention goods that will arrive separately or after your move.
- List any new items and tools so they can be reviewed separately.
- Use the vehicle page for a car; its guidance lives on Mexico Car Import.
